The 14/15 series was created using high-performance clay. The clay was then inlaid with multiple materials including quilted maple, pearl shell, abalone shell, tigers eye stone, quartz, glass, geathers, fur, coral, grasses, and many other treasures found on this awesome planet. When choosing what material to use on a particular sculpture, I try and choose the one that best represents the essence or the story of the subject. For example, I chose to use quartz for the eyes of the Cave Bear and wood for the teeth. I felt like these materials best depicted the bear in his environment while adding a mystique to the sculpture.” — Co-Founder and Artist, Travis Parr
